BYU-Hawaii offers a unique environment that helps students enlarge the intellect, build personal character and faith in God, and live harmoniously among those whose cultures are different from their own. This leads our students to a lifetime of learning and service in their careers, families, church, community and country.
The tools you need to succeed
During my coursework at BYU–Hawaii, I felt inspired to register for Chemistry 105. As an International Business Management major, my professor and I both questioned the logic of my decision to enroll in the course. Taking that course, as it turns out, has significantly helped me to succeed in a Fortune 50 chemical company as a Global Digital Marketing Manager. I will always be grateful for the inspired direction and excellent education I received at BYU–Hawaii.
Small class sizes = individual support
The teachers here are patient and very helpful. They will assist you inside the class, as well as provide office hours where you can go and talk to them. My first semester here was difficult for me, and my first set of teachers would send me emails and even have short talks with me in their offices. Not only did this allow me to better complete my assignments, it helped me learn – not just merely attend class.
Ideas that will take you far
My classes at BYU–Hawaii not only taught me the skills I need to be successful, but they encouraged me to be an example and a leader. Becoming friends with students from all over the world exposed me to different perspectives and ideas. My goal is to use what I have learned at BYU–Hawaii to bless my family and home country.
