Data Governance

If a program or department needs university data, they must submit a ticket to the Data Governance Group (DGG). All requests must be approved by the requestor’s manager/director/dean. The team Dynamix ticket request automates this approval process.

Note: Approval from a manager/director/dean does not automatically mean that the request will be completed. The DGG will meet and decide if and how this need can be met.

To create a ticket in the team Dynamix to request university data, please follow the following steps.

  1. Go to BYUH Team Dynamix
  2. Click on Request Access under Service Request
  3. Click on Service Request – Access to PeopleSoft Student Admin
  4. Click on the green Request Service button
  5. Log-in
  6. Fill out all the required fields
    1. For Action Type, select “Request for Data/Query”
    2. Leave the navigation field blank.
    3. Under Justification explain:
      i. The exact data that is needed
      (Please be advised that not all requested fields are available to all people. An individual’s security role and kuleana at the university are what determine this. The DGG will evaluate and make the determination, then inform the requestor.)
      ii. What data is needed for
      iii. Spell out all fields and any definitions required
      iv. Be sure to include that this request is for the Data Governance Group
      v. Also be sure to include your requested timeline for when the data is needed
  1. Click on the red Request button (at the bottom of the page) to submit.
