Ecclesiastical Endorsement
Beginning in Fall 2014 the BYU-Hawaii distance learning program will require all students who are taking academic courses to receive an ecclesiastical endorsement from the bishop of the ward that holds their current membership record. When you apply through BESMART.com, you will be expected to obtain this endorsement. If you have problems obtaining your ecclesiastical endorsement, please contact onlinelearning@byuh.edu.
List of Courses Not Requiring an Endorsement
There are several courses that students may take before obtaining an ecclesiastical endorsement. These courses include:
- All English as an International Language (EIL) courses
- Student Development
- Biology 100
- English 101
- Music 102
- Entrepreneurship 250
All other courses will require an endorsement.
