What is the Center for Academic Success?
The Center for Academic Success is a resource center that helps students be successful at here at BYU-Hawaii. We are here to help you improve and excel in study habits, time management, and academic performance.
What resources and services do you provide?
When you come into the Center for Academic Success, we can help you through one-on-one support with the missionaries, the Student Development courses, workshops, student peer mentors, and personalized academic plans. We can help you build your skills in test taking, time management, developing a growth mindset, speed reading, and much more!
Can I just come in and talk to someone?
Sure just come by! You can set up an appointment by phone, email, or online scheduling, but if you want to just come in and talk to someone, we accept all that come into our office.
Can someone show me how to be more organized?
Yes, the missionaries would love to meet with you to help you be more organized and prepared for your classes. We offer one-on-one support with the missionaries, Student Development classes that teach you organization skills, and you can even meet with a peer mentor. We also have some free worksheets that might help you.
What can I do to get ready for Mid-terms or Finals?
Come in and talk to us! You get get one-on-one support with the missionaries to be more prepared. Additionally, our Student Development classes and workshops on test taking can provide more support. We can also share some handouts to help you prepare.
I feel overwhelmed. Can someone help me?
Sometimes we all feel overwhelmed. Come in and we'll be happy to listen. We are here to help and support you!
