++ Because of Federal regulations from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, during in-residence semesters, international students in the U.S. on a J-1 visa may not take 50% or more of their classes in an online-only mode of instruction during a non-vacation semester.  Students on an F-1 visa must take a minimum of 9 of their semester credits in an on-campus mode of instruction during a non-vacation semester.

*Counts for a Semester in Residence. Note: two part-time semesters will count as one semester in residence.

To find online classes: look in Search for Classes and then click on Additional Search Criteria > Mode of Instruction > Online Course
Make sure that you have selected the correct "Term" at the top of the page and you will see all the classes offered online during that semester.

Online-Only Semester: Degree-seeking students should not discontinue for a semester and apply to take online classes in the DL program. Instead, students who are entirely off-campus and are taking 100% of their classes as online-only for one semester may apply for the online-only semester program and will then be charged $110 per credit tuition (or appropriate tuition based on location). Application to be moved to a online-only program for a semester will be through completing this form and submitting it, along with needed signatures, to the Registrar's Office. You will be moved to a UGDOF (undergraduate degree-seeking off-campus) program in PeopleSoft and have an ONLINE registration hold placed on your account.

Please note that students who receive reduced tuition (online-only or internship semesters) will not be eligible to receive scholarships during that semester.  To retain your eligibility for receiving a scholarship the semester following an online-only semester you would need to meet the same criteria as an on-campus student (GPA + 14 credits or 12 in the summer or the 40 hour rule).

Internship Semester Students who take online-classes during their off-campus internship will not receive the online-only tuition benefit because they will be charged at the internship tuition rate. If a student is entirely off-campus during their internship semester it will not count as a semester in residence, but if part of the internship semester is done on campus with on-campus mode of instruction classes then it will count as a semester in residence.
