Areas of Professional Study and Interest: 

Lynne Hansen is an alumna (1961) of Brigham Young University, Hawaii (then Church College of Hawaii), and has been on the faculty here since 1978.In addition to the degree earned in Laie , Hansen was educated at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah (BA ,1965; MEd, 1967), the University of Utah (MA, 1970) and the University of California, Berkeley (Ph.D, 1980). She has taught languages or done research in Austria, Fiji, India, Japan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Samoa, and Tonga. Hansen's current research is in the areas of progression and regression of languages in bilingualism, and the measurement of oral language proficiency.
