Areas of Professional Study and Interest:
Elise Fader has a B.F.A. degree in Spanish and French from Brigham
Young University in Provo, an M.A. degree from Eastern Michigan, and a
Secondary Education Certificate in Spanish Teaching from Brigham Young
University. Her teaching experience includes teaching Spanish in
Michigan, Spain, and EFL at the American High School in Madrid,
Spain. She has taught ESL fulltime at Washtenaw Community College, the
University of Michigan, and currently at Brigham Young
University-Hawaii where she is also the Listening/Speaking Coordinator.
Elise has served on a variety of committees; EIL minor proposal
committee and the TESOL 2000 proposal selection committee. She is
currently serving on the EIL Curriculum Committee and the Language
Center Steering Committee. Her ESL interests include reading,
listening/speaking, cooperative learning, and the use of student
portfolios as a means of helping students become self-motivated
learners.
