Welcome to the Alumni
Discussion Group

Many of you have been asking for a discussion group feature on the TESOL Alumni page so that you could stay in touch easier, network and share information with fellow grads in a safe and helpful environment.

We hope that you will take a few minutes to click on the icon and join the list. The group email list is administered by Yahoo, and will be monitored by the chair of our department.

Below is a brief outline of our expectations regarding this new discussion list.

Purpose:  We expect this list to be a place where we can work as colleagues, as well as potential employers and employees. We invite you to post any job offers that you are offering, or are confidently able to recommend. We hope also that you will use this list much like TESL-L, asking questions and finding answers. (A number of our department faculty are also looking forward to being a part of these discussions.) Since many people don’t visit or respond to these kinds of lists every day, don’t ask a question that you need a response to by dinnertime!

Guidelines:

1.  Please be professional and courteous in all your communications on this list.

2. Please do not use this discussion list to send personal emails. You may do this privately by simply checking the TESOL alumni email directory (also on the website) and obtaining the appropriate email address of your long-lost classmate, friend, etc.

3.  Do not reveal other people’s personal information in your discussions (e.g., mailing address, social security number, etc)

Hope to hear from you soon!

Department of English Language Teaching & Learning
