The purpose of [an organization] is to create a mutually beneficial relationship between itself and those that it serves. When it does that well, it will be around tomorrow to do it some more.

Message from the Dean (Robertson's Order) |

Welcome to the Political Science Web Page!
This has the potential to be the most important source of information about your major and your career. This is an exciting time for Political Science students. A recent Newsweek article indicated the retirement of the Baby boom generation has started. Already there is a great demand for new employees at all levels of government. By 2012 50% of the federal workforce will be gone. That means that there will be about a quarter of a million jobs. State and local governments will have a similar shortage.
I am sure that the US is not the only country looking for talented, qualified, and enthusiastic applicants. The department is in the process of restructuring the curriculum to meet the demand. Stay tuned for the changes; they will be reported here.
